Helping to Alleviate a Common Side Effect for Patients With HIV

The Need

In patients diagnosed with HIV, ART therapy is the standard protocol. However, a common side effect of ART therapy is noninfectious diarrhea, which up to 27% of patients suffer over the course of 1 year of therapy. HIV patients are often hesitant to discuss diarrhea for several reasons: they are unaware it is a side effect of medication, their primary concern is decreased viral load and they are willing to accept the side effect, or they are unaware there is a prescription medication available to help alleviate the diarrhea.

Utilizing a unique MOA and active ingredient, this launch product needed help highlighting the prevalence and impact on patients for infectious disease HCPs.
